The IT Network/DevOps Engineer is a jack-of-all-trades production engineering role. Candidates must be able to context switch seamlessly, generate his or her own priority lists, and be extremely technical across a wide range of technologies.
Primary responsibilities (not limited to)
- Intimate knowledge of the Network Stack
- Linux administration and debugging
- Designing and implementing new networks and network systems
- Writing Network automation tools
- Interfacing with the rest of IT, as well as Production Support/Development teams
- Network maintenance (primarily Cisco IOS/NX-OS/IOS-XR/IOS-XE)
- Network infrastructure research/architecting/engineering/support
- Automation of the Network Layer
- Liaise with end users from all offices, various EU, APAC & US based IT teams. 3rd party vendors and service providers as required
Requirements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Puppet and/or Terraform experience would be ideal
- Ability to clearly articulate to technical and non-technical sides of the business
- Deep understanding of technology architecture and infrastructure, specifically the Network and automation there of
- Ruby, Shell, Python, Terraform knowledge would be ideal
- CCNP/CCIE level networking knowledge (EIGRP/OSPF/BGP/RSTP/VXLAN/VRF/MPBGP)
- Understanding of multicast environments
- Checkpoint Firewalls
- F5 Load Balancers
- Experience in the financial industry, or other low latency environments is a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Fluent English
Hours: 40 hours/week - Monday to Friday. Weekend "maintenance" shifts (Friday 18:00 - Saturday 12:00 EST/EDT). Ability to be on-call 24x7, for one week at a time
