Our client is looking for Deputy Managing Director. The position involves working to manage the operations of the regional office over a given territory. The Deputy Managing Director is in charge of day to day operations to start, manage and grow the business in line with the business plan set for the region.  

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  •  Agree on annual budgets and help to produce a detailed annual business operating plan.
  • Initial the setup of the business and grow the business infrastructure in line with the business growth and business plan.
  • Recommend/Approve the hiring of employees and key executives
  • Manage day to day operations within the guidelines of the Business Plan
  • Execute contracts upon approval of Managing Director
  • Identify key business partners and negotiate partnership agreements.
  • Provide continuous market input and participate in the revision of the business plan for the territory
  • Participate in the closing of key account deals
  • Protects organization's value by keeping sensitive information confidential.
  • Follow up closely all administrative issue related to the good standing of the business.
  • Monitor and raise a flag on any issue that may adversely affect the business.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Responsible for Managing all operations within the appointed Area. This involves taking responsibility for profit, revenue, cash and quality targets with the Managing Director.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly reports as requested by the company.
  • Agree on marketing plan and participate to marketing events

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
  • Polyvalent, flexible and convincing.
  • Able to quickly identify opportunities and practical ways to test the critical uncertainties.
  • Apply strong project-management skills to juggle multiple factors in a tight timeframe.
  • Manage project ramp-up on time, in the budget, and in line with agreed quality standards.
  • Obtain the necessary authorizations from the relevant authorities to do business, in line with guidance from the Managing Director, Strategic Initiatives, and programs.
  • Work with senior management to identify and propose internal special projects to support the achievement of strategic aims. This position reports to the Managing Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR APPLYING:
  • Education A degree in engineering is required, and an MBA would be advantageous.
  • A substantial business development/marketing qualification is highly desirable.
  • Experience This is a position for an entrepreneurially minded, seasoned professional with at least twelve years of experience – preferably in renewable energy industry, at least five years of which included Managing vendors, service providers, and employees. Significant success at launching new ventures, in-depth project management experience, and evidence of Managing complex special projects, is essential.
  • The position also requires knowledge of the Arab world, as well as other world markets, combined with in-depth knowledge and experience in multicultural and multinational work environments. The role is suited to an experienced project director, used to building teams and commercial offices, either working for a project management business or with the project team of a large corporate.
  • Knowledge of languages in which we do business (English and Arabic) is essential, French is desirable.
