Role: Logistics Manager 1 ‚Äč

Essential Responsibilities:
1) Ensure the success operation of the Logistics department to include Supply Support Operations, Requisition Processing, Inventory, Hazardous Material Management, Research and Cataloging, Purchasing and Acquisition, Receiving, Warehousing, Garage Operations, Equipment Management and Administrative Support Services.
2) Manage staff and resources for the Logistics function
3) Set and administer operating standards and policies for the department.
4) Establish and manage operating budgets for the logistics programs and departments.
5) Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the overall effective logistics program to support the initiatives and directives of the customer.
6) Evaluate and recommend new initiatives and methodology in the logistics area based on requirements and priorities.
7) Participate with the customer to assist in supporting the strategic direction of the logistics department.
8) Act as the company liaison with other contractors and the customer for planning, implementing and coordinating logistics initiatives.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Bachelor_s degree in business or related field; seven (7) years of experience in one or more of the following: logistics services, material management, transportation, material handling, use of information systems in logistics management. Must be familiar with current systems/ methodology. Excellent analytical and communication skills; must possess planning/organizing and leadership skills and a valid driver_s license. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 50 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
