INSPECTOR – Special Equipment

Identifies all equipment faults (deficiencies/short comings) and records on the maintenance worksheet.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Performs initial inspection applicable for inspected items.
2. Identifies all equipment faults (deficiencies/short comings) and records on the maintenance worksheet with all required repair parts will be listed on the maintenance request.
3. May be required to diagnose and troubleshoot as needed to support complex maintenance actions.
4. Components of end items will also be inspected (i.e. rigging equipment, snatch blocks, spare tires, loading ramps, chock blocks, and canvas covers).
5. Component repairs and engine powered equipment such as contained in or upon major end items will also be inspected during initial inspection.
6. Perform in-progress and final inspection of maintenance performed to ensure all quality standards have been met.
7. Prepare Quality Assurance Forms and obtain customer signature of acceptance.
8. Inspect for proper use of tools, incorrect repair and adjustment procedures, and the proper use of publications.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

This is a position with a physical rating of heavy. Must have 5 years maintenance experience preferably with QA/QC background. Military maintenance/defense maintenance contracting experience preferred but not required. Civilian candidates with 5 years' maintenance and quality assurance/quality control, (QA/QC), technical experience are encouraged to apply. Must be proficient In Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and Power Point. Thorough knowledge of technical publications helpful. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Extreme danger, stress, physical hardships and possible field living conditions associated with this position within a desert camp complex.
Ability to function during an extended assignment at a foreign, in-country facility exposed to seasonal temperature extremes. Ability to cope with shared cafeteria, bath and sleeping quarters. Must be able to walk, kneel, bend and stoop, and have correctable vision. Employee will be supervised by the Site Manager or senior Human Resources personnel.
